The Monster sportive in Mid Wales.
Amazingly it’s been a year since the first Monster Sportive, another great event by A Cycling. This is the hardest sportive in the UK and this year it was beefed up to give the riders some additional distance and climbing. For the brave souls that took part, they completed 194km with 4200m of climbing.
Luckily for the limited number of riders, they are greeted with some of the most beautiful scenery Wales has to offer. Taking in sections of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the famous Epynt military range and the Devils staircase, just to name just a few.
The weather held out with only a couple of small amounts of drizzle which lasted no more than five minutes. Although many completely emptied their tanks by the end, the general consensus was it had been a great days riding and they will be rushing back to ride this brutal event again next year.
